Larry Donatoni, Senior Consultant

LarryLarry brings more than 40 years of experience specializing in community based, health care, and higher education development activities.

During his 14 years at Santa Clara University, he held a variety of leadership roles related to the successful completion of the University’s $410 million campaign. He was directly involved in the capital project to raise $46 million for a new business school building. During his SCU tenure, he was responsible for a variety of management and fundraising areas including: major and planned gifts, stewardship, corporate and foundation relations, special events, research, gift reporting and prospect management.

Prior to joining the University, he focused on healthcare fundraising at both Dominican Santa Cruz Hospital and Mercy Healthcare Arizona; served as Executive Director of the Santa Cruz County and Monterey Peninsula United Ways; and several years securing State funds for construction in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District.

Larry is active in a number of professional organizations primarily CASE and Association of Fundraising Professionals – AFP. Over the years he has presented at numerous conferences on topics addressing capital campaigns, planned giving, prospect management and board development.

Community based activities have included serving as founding Board member of the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County, Trustee Emeritus for St. Francis Central Coast Catholic High School – Watsonville, past president of the Watsonville Chamber of Commerce, along with various other community organizations. In addition he is an active member of the San Jose Rotary Club, serving on a wide variety of club committees.

Larry has a Business Management from Santa Clara University and resides with his wife, Mary, in Aptos, California.
